Bhubaneswar: Dominant Odisha enforced follow-on on Goa in an under-23 CK Nayudu trophy cricket match played at Gandhi stadium in Bolangir. Chasing Odisha’s mammoth first innings total of 561 for 8, the visitors were folded up for 257 runs in their first innings. Goa are batting on 27 without losing any wicket in their second innings till the stumps were drawn on third day of the four-day match.
Goa started the day at 68 for 3 with overnight batsmen opener Prathamesh Gawas batting on 49 and Achit Sigwan on 7. Both the batsmen played cautiously in the first one hour of the day with the opener scoring a half century. While Prathamesh scored 80, middle order batsman Srinivas fadte scored 66 for the visitor.
For Odisha team Jamla Bhanjan Mohapatra acalped three wickets while Debashish Samantray and Debabrata Pradhan took 2 wickets each. Debapriya Pattnayak and Abhijeet Ghana took one wicket apiece.
After follow-on Goa started cautiously and have not lost any wicket. While the home team would try to win the match by taking all the wickets on last day to get bonus point, it will be a tall task for visitors to save the match and get at least one point. Both teams are placed at the bottom of the plate group with Goa at the last position.
