Rayagada: In yet another case of child trafficking, the Government Railway Police (GRP) managed to rescue as many as 15 children including 11 girls from Rayagada railway station, while they were being trafficked to Andhra Pradesh on Saturday evening.
All the rescued children hail from Kanchmuha village under Seikhkhal police limits in the district, said the police.
According to sources, GRP personnel grew suspicious after they spotted the children roaming in the station. On being interrogated, the children revealed that they were being taken to work in a fish factory in Nellore in the neighbouring state.
The children were immediately rescued and childline officials were alerted about the matter, inorder to take custody of the rescued children.
After counselling and through verification the rescued children will be handed over to their parents very soon, said childline worker.
