Raigarh: A head constable posted at Raigarh police station in Chhattisgarh wrote a letter to the superintendent of police (SP) seeking official permission to beat up his wife.

The letter written by head constable Sanjay Kumar has gone viral on the social media platform.

In the letter, Kumar stated that he always listened to his wife and do whatever she says as she belongs to an influential family with political backing. He said he wants to intimidate and beat up his wife as she wants to take part in an agitation of the police to be held in Raipur against the government on June 25.

“I do not want her to participate in the demonstration. In order to prevent her from participating in the agitation, it is necessary to scare and beat up her,” Kumar stated in the letter.

Kumar also stated that he needs the official permission to beat up his wife as his wife’s family has ‘political influence’ and they can lodge a complaint against him anytime and frame him in the criminal case.

“Therefore I request you kindly allow me to beat up my wife so that I can prevent her from participating in the demonstration,” Kumar added.

Sources said the families of police officers across the state of Chhattisgarh are planning a demonstration against the government on June 25 demanding better facilities and perks for police officers.
