CBSE topper abducted, gangraped by 12 men in Haryana
Chandigarh: A 19-year-old girl student, who topped the CBSE board exam in 2016 was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by 12 miscreants at Kanina village in Mahendragarh district near Rewari.
The victim hailed from Kosli in Rewari was recently in the national headlines after she was received an award from the President of India for excellent academics.
According to sources, the victim, a second year student was returning from her coaching class when some miscreants waylaid her and took her to an isolated place in their car. The perpetrators then spiked her drink and took turns to rape her.
The accused persons then left the girl near a bus stop in Kanina and informed her parents regarding the incident. They also threatened the survivor’s parents of dire consequences if the latter informs the matter to the police.
Later, the victim lodged a ‘zero FIR’ in this regard with Mahendergarh police. On basis of the complaint, a probe has been initiated into the matter, police said.
Meanwhile, the family members have alleged that the police initially refused to take their complaint and file an FIR. They also alleged that they had been running from one police station to another to file a complaint, after the accused threatened them.
The survivor, in the complaint has also said that few other men who were present at the place also took turns to rape her. The complaint also claims that the accused belong to the same village as that of the survivor.
The medical examination of the girl has been conducted while a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, senior police officer AS Chawla said.
