Bhubaneswar: The CBI has expedited its investigation in chit fund scams in the state. Today, BJP leader Sashikumar Sahu was grilled regarding links with Artha Tawta (AT) chit fund scam. Meanwhile, CBI has issued fresh notices against BJD MP from Balasore Rabindra Jena and MLA Pravat Biswal’s wife Laxmi Bilasini to appear in person.
Balasore Simulia BJP leader Sahu, who lost in the elections contesting from there, was questioned today in connection with his links with Solan Inn owner Kamalakant Das who is believed to have taken money from AT group. Das was earlier grilled by the investigation sleuths three times in the AT scam.
Meanwhile, CBI has issued fresh notices against MLA Pravat Biswal’s wife Laxmi Bilasini who failed to appear in person on November 28. The CBI had earlier questioned her regarding a land deal with Seashore group. While Laxmi Bilasini had said that Seashore was first interested in their land and had paid them but later declined to buy and hence she and her MLA husband had returned the amount, they had failed to get a receipt. The CBI is beleived to be asking her for documents on the land deal which she has so far failed to submit.
Similarly, Balasore MP Jena has also been issued notice to appear for interrogation in person in Seashore chit fund scam investigation.
