Bhubaneswar: The State Crime Branch (CB) is all set to launch Operation Muskaan, a month long drive for rescuing and rehabilitating missing children from July 15.
This will be the third edition of Operation Muskaan and Crime branch has made elaborate arrangements to ensure that more kids are rescued by its teams this time.
Apart from providing training to officials, the Special DG (crime branch) B K Sharma on Friday had discussions with SPs of all districts through video conferencing and directed them to take appropriate measures to make the drive a success.
Notably, in 2015 at least 981 kids were rescued during the drive while in 2016 the figure rose to 2610, out of this at least 193 kids were rescued from outside the state.
The Operation Muskan will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will start from July 15 and will continue till July 29. During the period, search operations will be carried out within the State.
While the second phase of rescue operation will begin from July 30 and conclude on August 13. In the second phase crime branch will focus on tracing out missing kids trafficked to other states.
