New York: Marvel recently unveiled the second trailer of Captain Marvel movie starring Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson in the title role with hi-fi action scenes.

We get a glimpse of the most powerful superhero in Marvel universe, someone Avengers need desperately in Infinity War sequel after Thanos’ finger snap. The film is being considered a prequel to the other superhero films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Larson plays Carol Danvers who returns to Earth as a pilot with superhuman powers and finds herself in a war between two alien races.

Larson has received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a British Academy Film Award, among other accolades, for her performance in Room.

While this second trailer shares some footage with the first, which dropped in September, it ramps up the action and features more background on the lead superhero.

The second trailer also shares a glimpse of Annette Bening, the four-time Oscar-nominated star of American Beauty. However, the role of this actress remains a mystery as the trailer did not give away much about her character.

The answer to who is Captain Marvel remained in the cliff-hanger ending from Avengers Infinity War where Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), were desperately trying to survive. Fury, in his final moments, grabbed a pager device from his car and presses a button.

The retro-looking pager drops to the floor, showing a “sending” message on the screen before a strange insignia appears in front of a blue and red logo. The logo represents one of the most powerful heroes in the entire Marvel Universe – Captain Marvel.

Carol Danvers, previously a pilot in the US Air Force, has an unfortunate altercation with a Kree alien called Mar-Vell, giving her untold cosmic power. She has been known to have enhanced durability, strength, speed and the ability to fly. Danvers can also fire energy projectiles from her hands.

Her superhuman endurance and durability allows her to exist in space without assistance and also travel through the Quantum Realm, opening up the potential for her to travel through time.

Captain Marvel will likely be seen with the remaining Avengers to take on Thanos once again.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
