Bhubaneswar: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday has assured to provide two bullet proof boats to the state to act more efficiently in its anti-Maoist operation in the State its forces in the Malkangiri cut-off areas.
BSF DG Krishan Kumar Sharma has said that they are in the process of procuring two bullet-proof boats which will be available in the next three to four months. He said that the boats will help increasing the efficiency of the security forces, Sharma added.
Expressing happiness over the joint operation of Odisha Police and BSF here, Sharma said State police has been providing all cooperation to BSF when required.
Sharma met Odisha Police DG KB Singh and described his meeting as a fruitful one.
When asked about the progress of Gurupriya bridge construction work in Malkangiri, the BSF DG said he has information that the river work will be completed by end of June or July this year.
While speaking to the media, Singh said that they had a very good discussion with the BSF DG. They have discussed sharing of information and deployment and re-deployment of forces to tackle Maoist menace.
