Bombs hurled at pickup van in Khurda; 4 traders hurt

Khurda: Tension ran high near Godiapali Chhak in Khurda on Saturday after two bike-borne miscreants hurled bombs at a pickup van and injured at least four persons including a woman.

The injured identified as goat traders from Vishakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh were on their way to Khurda to purchase goat when the miscreants attacked them with an intention to loot.

The miscreants hurled bombs targeting the van following which the van got severely damaged leaving injured all four boarding. However, no cash or any other valuables have been looted from the traders of the neighbouring State.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital by Begunia Police later in the morning, where the condition of the van driver remained critical.
