Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has placed its annual budget of Rs 394 crores today for the financial year 2017-18 in its corporation body meeting.
The budget, precisely of Rs 394,59,28,923 gained approval of the house after a thorough discussion and now it has been forwarded to the state government for final approval. The budget has been appreciated by the Mayor and corporators which aims at overall development of the capital city.
However, the final budget placed today was first drafted on March 6 but it was later modified accordingly as suggested by the corporators.
The budget has been presented by the Chairman of Finance Standing Committee SK Nizamuddin and explained by Chief Finance officer Labanya Sabar in the corporation meeting.
In his statement Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said, the budget has been prepared for overall development of all the citizens of Bhubaneswar and all the areas of BMC including those recently added will be given priority as per the agenda.
