Shajapur: At least nine persons were injured in a blast that took place in Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train- 59320 at Jabari station near Shujalpur town of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning.
The injured persons have been shifted from Jabari to Kalapipal Civil Hospital.
The blast occurred in a general coach of the train between 9.30 am and 10 am, when it was en route to Ujjain from Bhopal, as per sources.
However, the blast is yet to be ascertained. Railways have released helpline numbers: 0731-1072, 07312521046, 07342560906.
The glass panes of the windows in the general coach were damaged because of the blast.
Following the blast, the train came to a halt. Smoke engulfed the general coach, causing panic among the passengers who rushed out to save themselves.
A relief train has been rushed to the mishap site and a probe has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the blast.
Madhya Pradesh government has announced Rs 25,000 compensation to injured and Rs 50,000 to critically injured persons.
