Jeypore: An eight-hour bandh called by the BJP has brought normal life to a standstill at Jeypore town in Koraput district on Thursday.

The saffron activists are observing the bandh to press their four-point charter of demands.

Almost all educational institutions, commercial establishments, shops and offices were closed and vehicles stayed off the road at several places in the town and nearby areas following picketing and road blockade staged by activists of the BJP.

Their demands included Notified Area Council (NAC) status for Borigumma block and proper functioning of Jeypore district headquarters hospital.
