Bhubaneswar: With the government moving Supreme Court seeking injunction on Chhatisgarh’s unilateral water project constructions on upstream Mahanadi, the BJD has stayed its plans to organise a mega human chain.
Talking to media persons here BJD Spokesperson Sashibhusan Behera said the party might go for a mass movement for the larger interest of the state later on.
Speaking on the issue, he criticized Centre and Chhatisgarh’s approach in not being able to sort out the issue with a consensus. We have moved Supreme Court after our demands were paid little heed. We can organize any such mass movement like human chain later on in a non-violent manner.
Notably, the BJD had announced that it would organize a mega human chain of 500 km long from Hirakud to Paradip to orchestrate its protests on the controversial Mahanadi water sharing issue.
