Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling party, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday launched the three-day long protest across Odisha against fuel prices hike by the Central government.
The activists of Biju Mahila Dal, Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal staged demonstration from 10 am to 12.00 noon today at various petrol pumps across the state.
BJD activists were seen holding flags and banners while shouting slogans against Modi government and distributing leaflets to sensitise the people about the surging fuel prices.
In Bhubaneswar, Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, several BJD Legislators including Brahmagiri MLA Sanjay Dasburma and Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahu also joined the protest today.
The two-hour protest will continue till September 9.
