Bhubaneswar: Bishnu Charan Das, newly appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board today said that he is going to resign as the member of Upper house in two days to follow the ‘one man one post’ norm.
In the process to tender his resignation, Das said he would meet Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari in two days and request for accepting the same. A notification has been issued by the government after assigning him with two major positions by BJD party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Ahead of assuming the new office, speculations move around Geeta Mehta to take over the Rajya Sabha membership charge.
Notably, senior leader Bishnu Charan Das of BJD was appointed as the new Deputy Chairman of Odisha State Planning Board and convener of BJD Minority cell yesterday. Last year N Bhaskar Rao quit from the same post after being elected to Rajya Sabha and the post had been lying vacant till date.
