Khurda: Four unidentified bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted over Rs 60 lakh cash from two staff of a private finance firm at gunpoint near Gediapalli under Begunia police limits in Khurda district on Thursday.
According to reports, the desperadoes intercepted the car, in which the employees of Radiant Cash Management Service Pvt Ltd were travelling, and looted the money on gun point.
The company employees, who were present in the car, told the police that they were headed back to the office after collecting cash via Narsinghpur and Khandapada, when the looters waylaid them near Gediapalli and decamped with the cash bag by brandishing guns.
On being informed, Begunia police rushed to the spot and began an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, the two staff lodged a police complaint in this connection.
As per available information, Khurda Superintendent of Police has also reached Begunia PS. Sources said the SP is quizzing the complainants to ascertain the details from where the cash was collected and why they were not assisted by any security personnel.
The police also questioned the firm employees that under which circumstances they stopped the car and were left unharmed by the looters, who made away with the huge amount of cash from them, sources said.
