Bhubaneswar: Uttar Pradesh’s biggest political family drama has now turned into a battle while baring open the family rift that has been reason for intra-party unrest for some time now as Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday sacked uncle and state party chief Shivpal Yadav and four others from the cabinet.
It was a double jolt for the ruling Samajwadi party as it had to also deal with another issue with SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav suspending brother Ram Gopal Yadav from the party for six years.
Besides Shivpal, the other ministers ousted from the cabinet are Narad Rai, Om Prakash and Shadab Fatima.
A day after Akhilesh’s supporter Udyaveer Singh’s dismissal from the party for six years by Shivpal the CM called party legislators and took this vital decision to sack all four of them.
“The Chief Minister said in the meeting that whoever was close to Amar Singh cannot be in his cabinet,” Raju Yadav a Mainpuri lawmaker who attended the meeting said.
Meanwhile, Mulayam and his brother Shivpal are on one side, while Akhilesh and Mulayam’s cousin Ram Gopal Yadav are on the other side.
