Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today directed collectors of all districts to take preventive measures to maintain law order in view of bandh call given by Congress party on September 10.
The Congress will observe Bharat bandh on September 10 against rising fuel price.
Home department special secretary Santosh Bala, in a letter to all collectors and district magistrates, stated that as reported in the press the Congress party would observe ‘Bharat Bandh on September 10 in protest against hike in petroleum prices.
“It is apprehended that they may stop vehicular traffic, rail traffic and close down business establishments and picket before government offices, banks and educational institutions,” Bala said.
Therefore, the district collectors were asked to take all preventive measures to maintain law and order and to ensure maintenance of essential services in the district.
He also requested the collectors to ask the officers and staff to attend the office by 09.30 am positively.
