Bhadrak: The curfew that had been lifted till 2 pm today has been imposed again till 7 am on Tuesday after which educational institutions might be reopened.
The curfew relaxation, initially till 11 am was extended to 2 pm but curfew was again imposed after two shops were set on fire today morning. Fire fighters doused the flames soon.
So far 80 people have been arrested informed Odisha DGP KB Singh. At present social media has been blocked in and around Bhadrak for 48 hours and may be extended if needed, said Singh. Also, 38 platoons of force are deployed to prevent any untoward incident along with two RAF companies. “While eight FIRs have been registered around 70 people have been forwarded to court for being involved in violence. Weapon and other property has also been seized,” said Singh.
Home secretary Asit Tripathy, who is also camping in Bhadrak town along with Singh, said that the situation is improving and educational institutions may reopen on Tuesday.
