Bedridden for 2 years, Odisha man appeals President for euthanasia

Bargarh: In a rare incident, a farmer Gunanidhi Khyati (43) from Mahulapali village under Bheden block in Bargarh district has appealed to the President of India to be allowed for euthanasia (right to die).

He is suffering from knee joint pain & back pain for last two years and is now completely bed ridden. He has undergone operation at Burla Medical & Vishakhapatnam, but didn’t get any improvement. Doctors advised him to do regular exercise and he did as well but with the passage of time he became weak & flat on his back.

He is the only source of income for his family. Along with the appeal to the President, he had penned a letter each to the PM, CM, & the Collector, Bargarh about his condition.
