Bhubaneswar: Battery operated vehicles will be made available for senior citizens and physically challenged persons during “Pathautsav” in Bhubaneswar. These sound and smoke free vehicles will be provided by Indian Craft Centre with free of cost.
The participation of city residents is expected to rise this Sunday. It has been seen that some senior citizens are facing difficulties to walk from Master Canteen to Ram Mandir due to their age. To ensure they participate comfortably, the authorities have decided to provide battery operated vehicles for them.
For the first time another special feature has been added in Pathautsav. The opinion of participants on various civic related issues will be collected with mobile cameras and these would be uploaded on the official Facebook page of Pathautsav. Here the participants can share their thoughts and pictures, which will be posted on the Facebook page of the weekly festival, said a senior official of BMC.
Likewise, in activity corner there will be a separate segment for Yoga training by AYUSH department. To observe International Mountain Day on December 11, painting competition will be organised by a social institution during Pathautsav. The BMC has decided to deploy 50 additional security personnel to maintain law and order in the event. The Commissionerate Police have also been requested to oversee the security arrangement on the day.
