Cuttack : The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Enforcement Squad inspected food stalls in Balijatra festival ground on Tuesday evening seizing a massive 1 quintal of stale food.
Inspecting sleuths conducted a routine check up in 147 stalls and inspected quality, hygiene of the food in the shops. They found a massive 100 kg of stale food and leftovers from last day and destroyed them.
Meanwhile, the officials have fined the law violating shop keepers and warned them not to indulge in such acts again.
CMC has also opened up a sale counter in the lower Balijatra ground where it has fixed a nominal price of Rs. 10.
Balijatra festival kicked off on Monday evening amid a bash inaugural ceremony kicked off by Minister Debi Mishra. The weeklong festival is attracting thousands of carnival lovers from all around the state.
