New Delhi: Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who is in India on a four-day visit, experienced his maiden ride on board the Delhi Metro and visited Akshardham temple on Monday.
Malcolm was accompanied by none other than his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two heads of state arrived at Mandi House metro station on the Delhi metro’s Blue Line to hop a ride, after holding delegation-level bilateral talks and signing six pacts aimed at greater cooperation.
Amidst tight security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted by chants of ‘Modi, Modi’ at the metro station.
Before boarding the train bound for Noida City Centre, the two leaders waved to the crowd gathered at the metro station,
Prime Minister Turnbull whipped out his phone and snapped a selfie with PM Modi while riding on the train.
The prime ministers deboarded at Akshardham metro station, and paid a visit to the famed Akshardham Temple.
