Bhubaneswar: The notification for auctioning of three limestone and one manganese mineral blocks will be issued on Wednesday afternoon, Mines Director Deepak Mohanty said.
The three mines one each from Malkangiri. Bargarh and Nuapada are said to be placed under the hammer sometime in Januray after the notification, sources said.
The three mines Garramura limestone block in Nuapada, Kottameta in Malkangiri district and Jampalli-Pikrijharan in Bargarh district will be placed for auction. Besides, notification will also seek bid for one manganese mineral block at Lasarda Pacheri in Keonjhar district.
Earlier on September, the State Mines Secretary Raj Kumar Sharma had informed about the issuance of notification by October end.
Notably, after the amendment of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR)Act, during December 2015, the first auction saw successful bid by Essar Steel for an iron ore mine at Gheraburnai-Sagasahi in Sundargarh. The state government has meanwhile decided to auction a total of six mines this fiscal one more iron ore, three limestone and a manganese.
