Assembly adjourned

Bhubaneswar: Congress leaders had protested on the last two days to stall Assembly proceedings while it was BJP’s turn today. The BJP leaders protested on BJD MLA Mahesh Sahu’s remark on PM Modi creating an uproar in the House for which it had to be repeatedly adjourned.

First BJP MLA’s raised the issue of clerical employees’ strike in Koraput for which they even entered the well of the House making it difficult to carry on with the session. When speaker Niranjan Pujari invited various ministers to present their reply to various questions in the question hour, BJP leader RabinarayanNayak suddenly reached the speaker’s podium and even tried to climb it. Following this the session was adjourned.

When the proceedings began, Congress leaders criticised the BJD government for neglecting farmers and Tara Bahinipati raised the issue of PM Modi’s remarks on Odisha’s poverty. BJD MLA Mahesh Sahu then said that Odisha pays Rs 80,000 crore revenue and yet the PM calls the state poor and used words that caused a stir by BJP members. The speaker ordered to edit the words from the coverage of the session.

However, BJP MLAs created pandemonium following which the Assembly was adjourned till 3 pm and then again multiple times.
