Guwahati: Nearly four lakh people are reeling under the fury of flood at 13 districts caused by incessant rains in Assam, according to official sources.
The flood water has submerged the low lying areas of the Kaziranga national park. Meanwhile, several rivers were still continuously showing a mounting trend.
Ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati has been suspended for the time being as the Brahmaputra is maintaining an increasing trend.
Over 24,000 people have also abandoned their houses due to floods and taken shelter in 148 relief camp set up by the concerned district administration officials in seven districts.
Apart from Karimganj district, the other flood hit districts are Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Golaghat, Cachar, Dhemaji Biswanath, Sonitpur, Hojai, Majuli, Barpeta, Nagaon and Nalbari.
