Arun Jaitley defamation case: Arvind Kejriwal put on trial

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday put chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on trial in a criminal defamation case filed against him by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley in the DDCA matter.

The Finance Minister had also filed a civil case against the Chief Minister and others in the party to seek 10 crore for “false, defamatory statements that harmed his reputation”.

The AAP leaders had accused Jaitley of finance irregularities when he was the president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) during 2000-12.

The trial in the case will commence on May 20.
