Angul: Two persons were detained by police on Thursday in connection with the brutal murder of a couple and their son at Gambharimaliha village in Kishorenagar block of the district on Tuesday.
The two detainees identified as Nanda Kishore Sethi and his brother-in-law Babula Behera, were detained by the police under suspicion. Loot and political rivalry were the motives behind the incident, said Angul district SP Brijesh Ray.
The dead bodies of Biranchi Nayak, his wife Tarani Nayak and their ten-year-old son Naba, who were staying in a thatched house on the outskirts of the village, were found in three different places with their throats slit.
While Tarini’s body was found near the house, Biranchi’s body was found nearly 40 km away at Topdala and their son’s body was found another 10 km away in a forest.
