Bhubaneswar: With four people dying and 36 others injured following the bus accident at Angul on Tuesday, Odisha Chief Minister expressed his deepest condolences announcing financial assistance of about Rs. 2 lakh ex-gratia for kin of the each deceased person.
Meanwhile, State Transport Minister Ramesh Majhi has ordered Angul Regional Transport Officer (RTO) to probe into the incident and furnish the findings.
“After investigations actions against the culprits will be taken,” Majhi said. He ensured that all kinds of assistance will be ensured for free treatment of all the injured persons.
Notably, a private bus named ‘Janha Mamu’ en route from Angul to Athamalik plunged off a bridge nearby Tukuda village under Jarpada PS in Angul district.
Sources said there were at least 40 occupants inside the bus out of which four have been confirmed dead while 36 others have been admitted to hospitals, out of which 18 said to be in critical condition have been shifted to SCB hospital.
