Sambalpur: Police on Sunday arrested another two persons including a woman from Ranchi in Jharkhand in connection with Jamankira Andhra bank heist in Sambalpur district.
Acting on relevant inputs, police nabbed the mastermind of the loot and one of his associate from the neighboring state today. While the mastermind has been identified as Bhaina alias Paras Bhanu (33), the arrested woman has been identified as Pinky alias Shantisini Naag.
A country made pistol, two live bullets, gold jewellery, motorcycle and Rs 23,000 in cash were seized from their possession.
According to sources, as many as four armed miscreants looted Rs 10 lakh from Andhra Bank’s Jamankira branch in the district on August 3.
Taking note of the broad daylight robbery, a special team was formed which launched a manhunt in and outside the state to nab the culprits.
Earlier on September 1, police arrested three accused from Howrah in West Bengal in connection with the case while the main accused was absconding.
The accused duo were produced before the court today, the police said, adding that they have been sent to Judicial custody after the court rejected their bail pleas.
