Malkangiri: In yet another incident of ambulance failure, a patient was once again carried on cot for about four kilometres as the 108 ambulance service failed to reach a village in the tribal-dominated Malkangiri district.
The incident was reported from Gajiaguda village under Govindpali panchayat in the district where a patient identified as Laxan Pangi suffering from diarrhea was carried on cot by locals after the ambulance failed to reach the village due to poor road connectivity.
According to source, Pangi turned critical owing to his illness this morning following which his family members informed the ambulance service.
However, the ambulance service expressed their inability to reach the village as vehicular communication to the particular location has been snapped due to rise in water level in the Saptadhara river.
Later, the locals gathered and carried him on a cot to a nearby village from where he was shifted to Mathili hospital in an auto rickshaw.
