New Delhi: There is no obligation to present Aadhar for the central government pensioners for release of pension, said Minister of state for personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh on Wednesday.
“The Central Government has no proposal that makes Aadhar mandatory for pensioners,” said Singh.
Already, 87% pensioners of all age categories have connected their bank pass book with Aadhar number. Only 80-90 ages, 13% pensioners are yet to be connected with Aadhar number, Singh said Lok Sabha in a written reply.
Government has taken steps to connect bank pass book with Aadhar number of all central government pensioners, so as to enable them to benefit from the additional facility of getting Digital Life Certificates, he added.
