Berhampur: In yet another case of love triangle murder, a bank agent was allegedly murdered cold-blooded by a doctor, as both of them were involved in an affair with a nurse. The incident took place in Berhampur in Ganjam District.
The matter came to light after police exhumed the decomposed body of the missing bank agent, who was missing since 25 days, from the backyard of the accused doctor’s house in Badagumula near Berhampur on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Bishnuprasad Gouda, a private bank employee of Bania village. According to police, the deceased’s wife had lodged a missing complaint on August 18.
The accused has been identified as Hrusikesh Tripathy, a local doctor.
While the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, police suspects that the accused doctor Hrushikesh and the deceased Gouda were having a love affair with nurse. Following a rift between them the doctor had hatched a plan to eliminate Gouda.
Sources in the police said, Hrusikesh called Gouda to his clinic on some pretext where he allegedly killed him and cut the body into three pieces. Later, he called his friend Gagan Behera, helper in the clinic owned by Tripathy to hide the body.
The two then took the body in a car and buried it at the backyard of Tripathy’s house. The both even had built a latrine tank on the spot to fool the police.
Family members grew apprehensive after Gouda did not return home and went contactless. A complaint regarding missing of Gouda was lodged at the Baidyanathpur and Khallikote police station. The family had also conveyed their grievances to the district collector.
Following the complaint, a special team had been formed on the orders of the SP. During probe, police detained Behera under suspect who confessed to the entire crime during interrogation.
Based on his revelation, police finally unearthed the body from Tripathy’s house backyard while the accused doctor is on the run since Behera’s arrest.
Meanwhile, police suspected the involvement of more persons and launched a probe. A manhunt was launched to nab the absconding doctor.
