Bhubaneswar: In view of Bharat Bandh call given by Congress party against increase in fuel price, all private and government schools across the state will remain closed on September 10.
In a letter to all district collectors, School and Mass Education Department Principal Secretary Pradip Kumar Mohapatra has asked the officials to ensure that all school would remain closed during the bandh to ensure the safety of the students.
Earlier, home department special secretary Santosh Bala had directed the district collectors to take all preventive measures to maintain law and order and to ensure maintenance of essential services in the districts during the observation of bandh.
“It is apprehended that the protesters may stop vehicular traffic, rail traffic and close down business establishments and picket before government offices, banks and educational institutions,” Bala had said.
He had also requested the collectors to ask the officers and staff to attend the office by 09.30 am.
