Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved additional 341 posts of sepoys and constables in the Odisha police.
While the recruitment process for 1,680 sepoys and constables is already in progress, now altogether 2,021 posts will be filled up, a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated.
According to the CMO statement, the government has also decided to recruit 46 assistant public prosecutors (APPs). The Chief Minister approved a proposal in this regard today.
Notably, there are 209 posts in APP cadre. Recently the state government appointed 148 APPs and altogether 163 APPs are working. Besides, the CM has approved the appointment of 341 posts by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
Moreover, 154 candidates have been selected for Post-graduate teachers (PGTs). While 230 teachers’ post in Group B was sanctioned by the government, the OPSC has selected 154 candidates. They will be handed over appointment letters soon.
