Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched a ‘theme song’ on the occasion of 82nd Foundation Day celebration of Odisha Police at its headquarter in Cuttack.
The theme song “Jay Odisha Police” was unveiled on this auspicious eve with an aim to inspire the personnel for discharging duties assigned to them with care and dedication.
Policy of zero tolerance for anti-socials and secured society for public is the utmost focus of Odisha Police. After getting honored in the parade ceremony, Naveen Patnaik said the government is committed to expedite harassment cases against women whose are reportedly rising in the state.
He even said, that the government is pledged for protection of human rights with special attention to rights of women, minors, senior citizens and other weaker sections of the state.
The role of Odisha police should transcend the limit of maintaining law and order within the state. It must also keep kin enthusiasm to check crimes such as economic offences and cyber crimes.
Besides, a new ‘Smart Id’ card was unveiled for police personnel on the 82nd Foundation Day of Odisha Police.
Director General of Odisha Police KB Singh said, “The new ID card will help both in-service and retired personnel of the department for getting entitlements as it will be linked with their Aadhaar details holding a unique code”.
