50 kg Sambar deer horns seized from Bargarh
Bargarh: The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau last night busted a racket engaged in illegal transportation of body parts of endangered animals and seized 80 pieces of Sambar deer horns weighing 50 kg and four beer nails in Bargarh district.
Sujit Bhoi of Goudapali village was arrested from Ambabhona Chhak with the body parts, police sources said.
According to reports, Bhoi had collected 15 Sambar deer horns and four beer nails from Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary.
He had cut the horns into 80 pieces to transport it to Chhattisgarh last night.
Acting on a tip-off, the Bureau officials arrested him while he was waiting at Ambabhona Chhak and seized it from his possession.
