Southampton: The Indian team on the opening day of the fourth Test match, bowled out England for 246 at the Ageas Bowl Cricket Stadium in Southampton. At stumps, India were 19 for no loss with K L Rahul (11) and Shikhar Dhawan (3) on the crease.
The Indians made their start with an outstanding bowling performance as they took wickets at regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets while Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets each.
Sam Curran made 78 runs on 136 balls including 8 fours, 1 six while Moeen Ali made 40 runs on 85 balls including two fours and two sixes forming a crucial 81-run partnership.
England team faced a drastic loss from the beginning after Keaton Jennings was LBW by Jasprit Bumrah. After which the captain was out on same. However he got another chance as the ball was no ball. Later, he returned to Pavilion with 4 runs as he was made LBW on Ishant Sharma’s ball.
