40 girl students thrashed by anti-socials in Bihar, hospitalised
Patna: At least 40 girl students sustained critical injuries after being thrashed by anti-social elements thrashed them in Supaul district of Bihar for opposing harassment and eve teasing.
The injured students have been admitted to the Referral Hospital in Triveniganj by the district administration officials. The hospital authorities stated that the girls are undergoing treatment and their health condition is stable.
The injured girls have been identified as the students of Kasturba Gandhi School in Daparkha village of Triveniganj.
According to sources, the incident took place, when the men entered the school premises and bashed up the girls as they objected to their actions.
According to the warden of the school, when the girls were playing the men, who had used obscene language, started beating up the girls who had objected them for harassing and eve-teasing them.
The girls claimed that the men who attacked them are actively involved in anti-social activities and used to eve-tease them regularly.
Meanwhile, district Collector Baidyanath Yadav has ordered that an FIR should be filed against the accused.
Reportedly, a search is also being conducted to trace and arrest the persons involved in the attack.
