Keonjhar: At least four persons were killed and three others seriously injured after a speeding car they were travelling in rammed into a roadside tree near Anandpur in Keonjhar district of Odisha this morning.
The collision was so high that two persons died on the spot while five others were rescued in critical condition by locals and police.
Of the five injured, two succumbed to their injuries at Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital while the three others have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment and their condition is stated to be critical.
Reports added that the accident took place when the family members of Baikuntha Panda of Salabani area of Anandpur block were on their way back home attending a wedding ceremony at Thakurmunda on Friday night. The driver lost control over the wheels near Bankhidi Chhak on Karanjia-Anandpur road and hit a roadside tree.
The deceased have been identified as China Panda, Manorama Tripathy, Baikuntha Panda and Laxmipriya Panda.
