Srinagar: Three Indian soldiers were killed and body of one of them was mutilated by Pakistan troops on the Line of Control (LoC), Army sources said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred near Jammu and Kashmir’s Machhal sector. This is the second such incident of mutilation of the body of an Indian soldier on the LoC since October 29.
While reacting to the incident, Indian Army warned Pakistan of strong retribution.
Last month, Mandeep Singh, a soldier was killed an encounter and his body was mutilated by terrorists. Meanwhile the incident comes amid tension between India and Pakistan following the Indian Army’s surgical strike across the LoC in September this year.
Seventeen soldiers have died in increased ceasefire violations by Pakistan since India’s surgical strike.
