Rourkela: At least three members of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were gunned down and two others were injured during a joint combing operation carried out by Jharkhand police and CRPF on Odisha-Jharkhand border today.
The two injured PLFI members – one identified as Dinesh Gope, chief of the outlawed outfit and his one associate, however, managed to give a slip to the security personnel.
Arms including an LNG rifle, AK-47 and a Carbine gun have been seized during the operation.
The gun battle took place between security personnel and rebels at Kulatapu forest near here on Odisha-Jharkhand border during a combing operation carried out by the joint team of Jharkhand police and CRPF, informed a Jharkhand police official.
Notably, the outlawed organisation has unleashed terror in the areas bordering Jharkhand and Odisha.
