3 kidnapped tribal girls return to hostel in Odisha

Koraput: The three tribal girls, who were allegedly abducted in Koraput district, returned to their hostel on their own this afternoon.

The exact reason behind their abduction is still unclear.

The girl students, inmates of a tribal hostel went missing under mysterious circumstances at Dasmantpur block in Koraput district late last night had they had gone to answer nature’s call.

Earlier in the day, families of the missing girls staged a protest before the Dasmantpur police station demanding immediate action by the police, following their abduction.

According to inmates of the hostel, a group of seven girls of Sevashram School in Parajabedapadar area had gone out of their hostel to answer nature’s call.

Suddenly some miscreants flashed lights on them. While some screamed and ran helter-skelter, others including the three girls (two from class 6 and one from class 9) fell unconscious, one girl of the group said.

When the students regained their consciousness after sometime, they found the three girls missing from the spot.

The hostel authorities informed the matter to police and filed an FIR following which a search operation was launched to trace the girls.
