21 dead in South Sudan plane crash

Juba: As many as 21 persons died while three others sustained critical injuries after a commercial plane in which they were travelling crashed into a lake in South Sudan on Sunday.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the 19-seater commercial Baby Air plane was travelling from the capital, Juba.

Rescue team and other officials reached the accident site and carried out rescue operation. A six-year-old child, an adult man and an Italian doctor were among the survivors. They were immediately rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the officials launched an investigation to find out the circumstances leading to the crash.
