Sundergarh: Two children were critically injured in an explosion after a vehicle of Forest department carrying crackers caught fire at a village in Sundergarh district today.
The accident occurred in Deokarana village under Biramitrapur police limits in the district.
The children were rushed to Rourkela government hospital by locals for treatment.
Sources said crackers were stashed in the patrolling vehicle of the Forest department to drive away elephants. Following an unknown reason it caught fire leading to the explosion.
The two children who were playing near the vehicle sustained grievous injuries in the explosion.
