New Delhi: The one-day ban on NDTV India by Information and Broadcasting Ministry has reportedly been put on hold, sources said.
Earlier on the day NDTV had moved Supreme Court challenging the government’s decision of one-day ban.
Notably, I&B Ministry had banned the channel directing it to go off air for one day on November 9 for alleged violation of norms. NDTV was alleged to have broadcasted some sensitive and strategically crucial details during the Pathankot Airbase attack earlier this January.
Following the ban decision nationwide outrage and criticisms poured out against the Modi-led Union Government alleging it of showing intolerance and insensitivity towards freedom of speech of media.
