Khurda: At least fifteen persons were injured and seven of them were critical after a bus carrying passengers collided head on with a truck near Pubu Sahi market on Bolangir-Khurda NH-55 road on Wednesday.
Some of the injured were identified as Ipsita Sahu (aged 24) of Bolgarh, Mamina Sahu (aged 24) of Hatabasta, Prafulla Mahapatra (aged 55) and his wife Susama Mahapatra (aged 47) of Hariharpur of Sarankul and many others.
Listening to the screams, locals reached the spot and rushed the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital. Later the critically injured were shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
As per sources, the private bus bearing number OR-09-G-6030 carrying passengers was heading towards Sarankul in Nayagarh district. Meanwhile, a truck bearing number OD-04-H-0488 coming from the opposite direction hit the bus head on near Pubu Sahi market in the area.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the vehicles.
