Bhubaneswar: Marking the International Women’s Day here in the city on Monday, Parichay Foundation awarded 12 women achievers in different categories, who were selected from different parts of the country and even outside. Nobel Peace Prize winner and child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi attended the ceremony as chief guest and keynote speaker.
Parichay, an organisation engaged in promoting Indian art and culture and bringing about economic and social upliftment for underprivileged in urban slums and rural parts of Odisha and New Delhi held the fifth edition of Aarya Awards on March 6.
The awardees including the names of women from various fields were Gargi Bhattacharya (social service), Namita Nayak Chopra (entertainment), Sanghamitra Pati (medical science and research), Kasturi Ray (media), Puspanjali Rao (art and culture), Rashmi Sahoo (entrepreneurs), Sarita Routray (sports), Debajani Mohanty (literature), Jyotshna Rani Dalai (field of trendsetters), Baisali Mohanty (NROs, Odissi dancer -cum -choreographer), Manini Mishra (emerging talent in entertainment) and Tech Mahindra Foundation (CSR).
The Parichay Foundation, which has been felicitated by the President of India and recognised by the United Nations for its outstanding work, has been organising Aarya Awards since 2012.
